A bead pattern can range from a grid/chart (shown below) or Word Chart (text) or full detailed instructions (including text and drawings) for creating an item. When using basic techniques such as Brick, Peyote, Loom, Square, RAW (Right Angle Weave) often times only a basic pattern is provided. Once a basic technique/stitch/weave is learned detailed instructions are not needed to complete the project. Keeping a set of instructions for reference is a good idea. Many instructions are available FREE on the Internet. If you get a chance to take a Class (on-line or in person) I suggest you DO IT. The interaction and sharing of colors, techniques, ideas is invaluable and usually excels learning and creativity. Patterns are also available FREE and for a fee via the Internet. Many fantastic books available through books stores and libraries. |
