Scissors:
A pair of small sharp scissors is great. Clean thread cuts make it much easier to thread a needle and keep thread ends hidden (cutting the thread very close to a bead when finishing). I also understand cutting the thread at an angle also helps make threading the needle easier. Extra sharp scissors are needed to cut fishing line threads.
